At NK LAW FIRM, we believe that energy transition is not just a global challenge — it is a strategic opportunity for innovation, national development and responsible leadership.
This year’s Industrial Carbon Management (ICM) Forum — co-organized by HEREMA and DG ENER, under the auspices of the Hellenic Ministry of Environment and Energy (Athens, 8 December 2025), brought together thought-leaders, policy makers, regulators and industry experts to explore how Europe can accelerate next-generation climate technologies while ensuring energy security and competitiveness.
We were proud to be represented by our Managing Partner, Chara Zerva, and Senior Partner, Claire Lada, contributing to this high-level and groundbreaking dialogue on the future of industrial decarbonization.
A flagship example of Greece’s decisive role in Europe’s energy transition is the Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) Facility under development at the Prinos facility in Kavala. This landmark project, implemented by HEREMA S.A. together with the Ministry of Energy, positions Greece among the pioneers of CO₂ capture and permanent geological storage in Europe — directly contributing to EU climate-neutrality goals and the implementation of the Industrial Carbon Management Strategy.

NK LAW FIRM is honored to act as the dedicated legal advisor to HEREMA on all aspects of this project. From regulatory and permitting strategy, policy and governance advisory to structuring and drafting the legal and policy framework in close collaboration with DG CLIMA and other European institutions and EU stakeholders, our legal team ensures that this critical infrastructure is developed safely, efficiently and in full regulatory alignment.
We are proud to stand beside our clients and partners in shaping a new, resilient energy ecosystem — one where sustainability drives economic growth and technological progress. The future is happening now, and we are deeply committed to being part of it.
