Our Managing Partner and General Legal Counsel & BoD Legal Advisor at Enterprise Greece SA, Chara Zerva, participated at the “Invest in Greece” Conference held by NOMIKI BIBLIOTHIKI and Kathimerini, on March 12, 2026 at Megaron – The Athens Concert Hall.
The event was addressed by Kyriakos Pierrakakis, President of the Eurogroup / Minister of Economy and Finance of the Hellenic Republic.

Mrs Zerva had the pleasure of moderating the panel discussion on “Tourism Investments for the Future: From Infrastructure to Innovation” where along with the esteemed speakers Vasiliki Koutsoukou, Secretary General for Tourism Policy and Development and Ilias Betzios, Senior Associate, at Koutalidis Law Firm, they underlined the importance of upscaling touristic investments, due holistic governance of touristic and critical infrastructure, as well as the adoption of innovative technologies in strengthening the competitiveness and long-term sustainability of the tourism industry. The discussion also emphasized on how collaboration between the public and private sectors can further support Greece’s position as a leading global tourism destination, and they saluted the upcoming legislation on Special Planning for Tourism.

Mrs Zerva underlined that tourism today is far more than a single sector of the economy. It represents a complex and dynamic ecosystem of infrastructure, services, and investments that plays a decisive role in shaping a country’s development trajectory.

More specifically, Mrs Zerva underscored that in practice, tourism is the result of strong interconnections: between hotels and tourism facilities, critical infrastructure such as road networks, ports, energy and water systems, and the continuous integration of innovation.

Digital applications, modern management tools, and the effective use of data are now essential components of a competitive and sustainable tourism model. Understanding tourism through this broader lens allows us to design smarter investments and build a more resilient and sustainable future for the sector and the hosting societies.
