Mr. Georgios Karvelis is e-Government Solutions Director of the Institute for Justice and Growth of the European Public Law Organization (EPLO). In this capacity, he is responsible for the strategic planning, coordination and supervision of financing, management, and implementation of international technical assistance projects to countries and organizations to exploit information technology in the field of public governance (e-government) as well as in the field of justice (e-justice).
He is also a Member of the Scientific Council of the Institute for Justice and Growth of the EPLO.
Prior to joining EPLO, he served as an Advisor to the Minister of Justice, responsible for consulting to the Minister regarding the IT strategy of the Ministry in the area of e-justice, and as a Senior IT Officer at the Hellenic Capital Market Commission.
Previously, for 10 years, he served at a senior Management Level in IT Companies, with extensive experience in designing and implementing large-scale IT projects for the Public and the Private Sector.
He is a graduate of the Department of Computer Science of the University of Crete and he holds a Masters in Information Systems Engineering from the University of Manchester.
He is fluent in English and Greek.
